Email recap
An email recap is the post-meeting (or post-day) summary email the agent sends to the user with action items, decisions, and next steps. Distinct from a transcript (verbatim record), the recap is the agent's compressed take on what mattered.
Why it matters
Most users do not read their meeting transcripts. The transcript is the record of what was said, word for word; the recap is what the user actually wants. A 60-minute meeting becomes a 200-word email: what was decided, who owns what next, when the next checkpoint is.
The recap email is one of the highest-leverage features of meeting-recording agents. The user can be at a school pickup, in the gym, or actually working when the meeting ends; the recap arrives in their inbox an hour later, summarizes what matters, and makes the rest of the day flow without "wait, what did we decide on..." backtracking.
The structure that works:
- One-line takeaway. "We agreed to ship by March 1; design review on Wednesday."
- Decisions. Bulleted list of what was decided.
- Action items by owner. Who needs to do what.
- Open questions. Things that did not get resolved; flagged for follow-up.
- Link to transcript for users who want the full record.
The honest constraints:
- Hallucination risk. The recap is the agent's interpretation; sometimes it gets a detail wrong. The transcript is the source of truth.
- Sensitivity. Some meetings should not have recaps emailed (HR conversations, sensitive client matters). The user controls this per meeting.
How Ajeris handles this
Ajeris's recap pipeline generates and emails a recap for each recorded meeting. The recap arrives in the user's inbox typically within 5-15 minutes after the meeting ends. The user gets the summary; the transcript is a click away if they want the verbatim.
For sensitive meetings, the user can opt out via the heads-up SMS or by setting the meeting to skip recording entirely.
