Skill (procedural memory)
A skill is a how-to the agent learns by doing. It is procedural memory: not 'what was said' but 'how it was done.' The first time you ask the agent does the work; the next time it reuses the recipe.
Why it matters
Most AI agent products only have episodic memory. They remember that you booked the haircut at Felipe's; they do not encode the recipe. The next time you ask, they re-derive the recipe from scratch and may get it wrong. Procedural memory is the missing layer that lets the agent do things in your specific way without being asked.
The user-facing benefit is small per skill but compounds over weeks. After a month the agent is doing dozens of small tasks in the user's exact way without the user remembering they trained it.
How Ajeris handles this
Skills are saved automatically when patterns repeat (the agent watches for recurring user behavior and proposes a skill) or explicitly when the user says "save this as a skill." Each skill has a name, a description, the recipe in natural language, and an auto-versioned history. The skill catalog lets users install pre-built skills from a curated library.
