Dreaming worker
The fleet-wide nightly job that runs memory consolidation for every Ajeris user. Named for the analogy with sleep: a quiet, automatic, daily process that decides what to keep from the day.
Why it matters
Most AI agent products do not have a memory consolidation layer at all. The result is a recency-biased agent that forgets important things over time. The agent that does have one feels different in a way that compounds over weeks: it remembers what you told it; it carries forward the threads that matter; it stops asking questions you have already answered.
The job has to run at scale across many users without affecting live conversations. The night is the only window where the user's load is low enough to do batch work; running it during peak hours would slow active users.
How Ajeris handles this
The dreaming worker fires at 3 AM UTC daily and fans out to per-user consolidation jobs. Each user job runs against a frozen snapshot of yesterday's episodic memories so live conversations are not affected. The pass is fast (a few seconds per user) and produces a daily reflection the user can read on demand.
