Core memory
Core memory is the small set of facts about a user that should never expire and should always be loaded into the agent's prompt. Your name. Immediate family. The two or three things about your work that the agent should always know.
Why it matters
Most agent products do not have a core memory layer. They have a recency window (last N turns) plus optional retrieval (semantic search across older turns). The result is that high-importance, low-frequency facts get buried as more turns accumulate. The agent forgets your child's name three weeks after you mentioned it because the mention is no longer in the recency window.
Core memory fixes this. A small store, always loaded into the prompt regardless of query, never purged unless explicitly forgotten. The agent that has core memory feels anchored; the agent without it feels recency-biased.
How Ajeris handles this
Core memory is a per-user list with a small cap (typically fewer than 30 items). Items are added by explicit user "save this" commands or by the dreaming worker when a fact is repeatedly affirmed. Items are loaded into every agent prompt regardless of the query. You can list, add, edit, or forget core memories at any time in plain English.
