Bring your own tool
The pattern of letting users add capabilities to their AI agent that the platform did not natively integrate. Implemented in Ajeris via custom MCP servers.
Why it matters
A platform with native integrations covers the common case. Power users always have edge cases: a niche industry tool, an internal API, a third-party service the platform has not gotten to yet. "Bring your own tool" is the architectural commitment that the user does not have to wait for the platform.
Most AI agent products do not have a serious BYOT story. They ship a fixed set of integrations and either build the next one slowly or never. The MCP-based version of BYOT is the open-standard answer; the user writes a small server, the agent picks up the tools without platform involvement.
How Ajeris handles this
Ajeris's BYOT story is custom MCP. The user writes an MCP server, deploys it on infrastructure they choose, and connects the URL + auth to their Ajeris account. The agent picks up the tools and uses them on the next turn. No code review at the platform; no waiting; no ticket.
