The honest version
Apple Intelligence is the right shape for one job: an assistant that lives inside the operating system, sees on-screen content, knows your contacts and your photos, and respects on-device privacy. The Apple ecosystem advantage is real; if you live entirely on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, the OS-bound assistant is uniquely well-positioned.
Ajeris is the right shape for a different job: an agent with its own phone number that meets you in your existing messages app and on your existing voice line, regardless of which phone you have. The agent connects to your real accounts. The agent answers your business calls in your voice. The agent works the same on Android as on iOS.
The two products do not actually compete. They cover different jobs.
Three switch stories
The Android user. Someone who tried to use Apple Intelligence and realized she was the wrong customer; her phone is a Pixel. Ajeris does not care. The agent works in the messages app on her Pixel exactly the same way it would work on her partner's iPhone.
The mixed-device household. A family where the parents are on iPhone and the kids are on Android. Apple Intelligence is excellent for the parents and invisible to the kids. Ajeris is one agent for the household; everyone reaches the same number.
The small business owner. A salon owner with an iPhone who tried to use Siri to "help with the business" and quickly hit the wall. Siri does not answer customer calls. Apple Intelligence does not book customer appointments. Ajeris is the operational layer the iPhone does not ship with.
What Apple Intelligence does better
- OS-bound tasks. Writing tools in Notes, photo cleanup, the redesigned Siri are genuinely well-executed.
- On-device privacy. The Private Cloud Compute architecture is a serious privacy story for the on-device-relevant jobs.
- Apple ecosystem fluency. Reads Mail, Calendar, Photos with native integration. The Apple-app surface is the strongest place for Apple Intelligence.
- The price (free with the device). Hard to beat.
If those are your most-wanted features, you will keep Apple Intelligence regardless. So will we (the iPhone users among us).
What Ajeris does better
- Cross-platform. Works on Android, iOS, web, Alexa, any phone.
- A phone number. The agent is reachable as a contact, not summoned through the OS.
- Real third-party tools. 21 OAuth integrations on the personal side, plus your own MCP servers.
- Voice receptionist for small business. Apple does not ship this.
- Per-user memory across surfaces. The agent that follows you across SMS, WhatsApp, voice, Alexa, email.
- Same agent for personal and business. One identity, one memory.
How to decide
Pick Apple Intelligence if your assistant lives on your iPhone and your needs are OS-bound: writing, photos, on-device tasks. Pick Ajeris if your assistant needs to live in your messages, have a phone number, and work across platforms and use cases. Most iPhone users we talk to keep both. The two are not in tension.
